Arthroscopy
Arthroscopy is a minimally invasive surgical intervention which is performed through several small skin incisions which are each approximately 1 to 3 cm long. Small instruments such as scissors, forceps, shaver or a heat probe are being used. The patient may –if he wishes – see his operation on a TV screen in real time.
Which lesions may be treated by arthroscopy?
The shoulder, hip, knee and ankle are joints we routinely operate upon using arthroscopy. In doing so we can treat lesions of cartilage, meniscal tears and ligaments. Small bony lesion and inflammatory soft tissue may be treated as well.
